Tags on food items and transit ads let shoppers get recipes on their smartphones.

Microsoft Tag has recently been spotted at Whole Foods Market. Ever wonder how those delicious meals at Whole Foods are created?

Well now, at select Whole Foods, you can scan Tags next to food items with your smartphone and instantly see the recipes. What a great way for people to take recipes home and share them with friends – plus, they have the ingredients handy for in-store shopping (good marketing!). Check out this Tag for Raw Berry Crisp and what the recipe looks like on a smartphone.

Whole Foods is also using Tag on advertisements inside buses in the Seattle area. Check out our photos of a bus ad showing hungry riders some tasty bruschetta. Riders can scan the Tag and visit a mobile recipe site developed by Whole Foods.

Scan the Tag for Goat Cheese Bruschetta yourself and see how it works.
