The next time you hit Whole Foods Market to stock up on organic chia seeds and kombucha tea make sure you have your trusty smartphone with you. The natural grocery store chain has placed Microsoft Tags on signs in 33 of its Midwest locations.
The Tags have been added to signage including point-of-sale displays and product placards. (Tag is great at making shelf talkers truly talk.) Customers who scan the Tags can watch videos on specialized organic product providers, like the one below.
The Tags also deliver nutritional information, product origin and recipes—including one for chia seed pudding (just like mom used to make). They help consumers make informed buying decisions while providing a little entertainment during their weekly grocery shopping trip.
What do you think about using Tags to inform consumers about products and other services while in store? Let us know with your comments below or on Facebook or Twitter.
