With the beginning of March Madness, USA Today has launched its Mobile Hoopla contest, which lets you scan a Microsoft Tag in the newspaper’s Sports section and build an NCAA men’s basketball bracket on your mobile phone, with team selections for each round of the tournament. Plus, you can share your bracket with your Facebook and Twitter friends and see how your picks rank against theirs.
Once you complete your bracket, you’re automatically entered into a national contest for a chance to win an Xbox 360 Console with Kinect. The five players who make the most accurate picks by the end of the NCAA Tournament will win. Woop!
Think you've got what it takes to beat your friends' picks? Scan the Tag on this page, build your bracket, and find out. Hurry though – brackets are only open through midnight this Wednesday, March 17.
If you don't build a bracket, you can still scan the Tag to view real-time game scores and get insights from USA Today's Sports page.
USA Today has been using Microsoft Tag to add greater depth to its daily editions since early February, with Tags appearing daily on the home page and in each section, and the Mobile Hoopla contest takes the paper’s online engagement to the next level.
Contests are a great way to help build your brand and customer loyalty. What do you think of USA Today’s Mobile Hoopla contest? Do you plan to play? Let us know in the Comments below or on Tag’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
