Tag Makes the Cut at the Cutlog Art Fair

Tag is a great way to bring an exhibit to life and engage viewers beyond what is in front of their eyes. With that in mind, stageBACK Gallery in Shanghai used Microsoft Tag during the recent Cutlog Art Fair in Paris, which showcased works from 42 galleries both in France and across the globe.

The gallery worked in tandem with Bivouac Recording to create a way for people to interact with the gallery’s booth at the show by designing a set of six cards with custom Tags. When users scanned the Tags not only did they get more information about the artists, but they also could listen to the sounds of Shanghai such as the Chang Feng Park Singers or the Sheng Jian Bao Shop. The recordings instantly transported listeners to a whole other realm outside of the fair.


In addition, scanners also received a secret link to a private track recorded especially for the fair. The implementation went even further to engage viewers: The six Tagged cards were designed so that when they were put together in sequence, they showed an image of the stageBACK gallery space back in China. They also included a clear call to action on the flip side of the card.
