Being able to consume information when and where you want is one of the many advantages of the mobile world. Earlier in the week we talked about mobile information transfer and how it could work with Tag. Here’s an actual Tag implementation that is doing just that.

A platform within Microsoft’s Corporate Citizenship is using Tag to share its message. The corporate responsibility program focuses on promoting social good and economic opportunity through technology, people, partnerships and business. One of the features on its website is the Local Impact Map application, which is a global storytelling platform that shares Corporate Citizenship’s vast community investments. It contains more than 1,700 stories from 100 plus countries, so there’s a lot of information.

One of the unique aspects of the application is that if users are reading a story and want to “take it with them” to read later on, they can select the “View on Mobile” tab and it generates a Tag. Each story in the app is also replicated as an HTML page so readers can quickly pull it up on their smartphone after they’ve scanned the Tag.

The Local Impact Map app is a great use of Tag to create connected experiences across platforms.
