Books seem to get outdated so quickly – especially next to that teensy little thing called the internet. Using mobile tagging is one way the publishing industry can leverage that instead of loathe it. Guerrilla Marketing for Job-Hunters 3.0 is a book that does just that.
The career counseling tome, sold through Amazon, features a Tag on the back cover as well as 10 Tags sprinkled throughout it that complement chapter content and help readers understand best practices for job-hunting. Scanning one Tag, for instance, plays a “What Not to Wear”-type video with professional fashion tips for job interviews.
The book instructs readers on how to use social media and other digital tools to land their dream jobs – so incorporating mobile tagging is a natural fit. Tag in particular lets authors customize the end content and update it whenever they want – keeping the book as timeless as ole Shakespeare.
What do you think? Should mobile tagging become the norm in books? Are there other ideas the guerrillas could have used? Let us know in the comments below or on Tag’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
