Wedding magazines are using Microsoft Tag to help busy brides plan on the go.

Wedding magazines have taken a shine to Microsoft Tag. Get Married, Long Island Bride and Groom, and now Martha Stewart Weddings are using Tag to help busy brides plan their weddings on the go.

Tag can be seen throughout the Fall 2010 Issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. Readers can scan 15 different Tags to enter a sweepstakes; scanning a Tag brings up a mobile registration page, making it extremely easy to participate.

Get Married was the first bridal publication to use Tag, back in 2009. Its parent company, Get Married Media, immediately saw the potential in Tag to create a bridge between the magazine and the company’s TV show and Get Married website.

Get Married magazine’s promise to reinterpret the rules starts with the publication itself,” says founder and president Stacie Francombe. “Integrating Tag changes the way brides read a magazine, gather inspirations, and connect with advertisers.” Read their success story.

Long Island Bride and Groom published its 2010 Edition with over 125 Tags in advertisements and editorial content, directing brides to more information and mobile sites.

“When we first learned about Tag, we demonstrated it to brides and advertisers, and had a great response before we implemented it,” say publishers Stuart and Marie Freeman. “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to reach brides using the latest technology, and Microsoft Tag was a natural choice. Our printer was so impressed with the technology that they printed extra copies so they could introduce Tag to other publishers.”

But Tag’s value in wedding planning isn’t limited to magazines. For instance, consider adding a Tag to your wedding invitations – save money and provide more details than a printed card can convey.
