This week we’ve been all about mobile design and the importance of user experience. But we thought we’d get ready for next week’s topic—retail—by showcasing a Microsoft Tag implementation by department store Dillard’s.
The retailer used Tag in-store for a back-to-school promotion focused on the juniors’ department. The Dillard’s campaign had two specific calls-to-action: Enter a contest to win a variety of prizes including laptops, iPads and $100 gift cards, and receive two free music downloads for customers who made a purchase of $50 or more (which was cool, but not specifically related to Tag).
The Tag on the in-store posters and signage took customers directly to a landing page where they could fill out the form to enter the contest. Major props to Dillard’s for the placement of the Tags on their posters. Instead of burying the Tags at the bottom, they were front and center on the signs with a clear call to action. If you're going to go to the trouble to create a fun Tag promo, you certainly want customers to see those Tags.
