Newspaper advertising may be struggling in the digital era, but the Seattle Times has found a way to connect print ads to online marketing. To promote its new dealDIGGER daily specials, the Times ran a full-page ad on the back of Section A that included a Microsoft Tag.
When scanned with a smartphone, the Tag took readers to the online signup for dealDIGGER. In future, scanning Tags may take readers directly to the digital deal of the day, which ranges from restaurant specials to discount tours. Good deal!
