At the recent Redken Symposium in Las Vegas, the hair-care company used Microsoft Tag to help market its products to industry participants. Tags were used on signage, staff badges, and in a tear-out book. When attendees scanned the Tags with their smartphones, they visited a mobile site where they could watch videos about Redken’s new product lines, view a map of salon locations, and enter a contest to win an iPad.
Redken is moving into mobile marketing in a big way, with plans to use Tag on product packaging, posters at hair salons, print ads (to find a stylist that uses Redken), and at other industry events.
What do you think of Redken’s mobile marketing effort? Would you use these or other packaging ideas? Let us know in the comments below or on Tag’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
