Red Plum is giving bargain hunters a reason to happy dance. Not only does the company deliver coupons that are local and relevant to its customers both through the mail and online, but it’s also using Microsoft Tag to drive shoppers to some of its virtual initiatives. In June, the company began using Tag to amp up its Facebook presence and make it easier for subscribers to sign up for its newsletter.
As a result of Tag’s ability to boost subscriptions on existing print materials, Red Plum introduced a cool custom Tag to enhance the branding on its packaging. When customers scan the Tag they are treated to a video of some very happy shoppers busting a few bargain-induced moves. In addition, they can sign up for coupon and freebie alerts, as well as receive coupon promo codes and savings tips.
The premium placement makes the Tag simple for readers to find and scan. Best of all bargain hunters have all the info they need no matter where they are thanks to their trusty smart phone. That’s reason enough for a little joyful jig.
