I don’t know what is more delicious: the wheat berry salad or the chance of winning $250. In the Family Circle Recipe Sweepstakes, the monthly magazine is kicking it up a notch (tip of the hat to Emeril) with the use of Microsoft Tag. Each month for a whole year, the magazine is featuring a photo of a recipe on the cover and then using Tags on their most viewed pages.

After scanning the Tag, users are brought to an entry form to enter for a chance to win. In addition, there are options to sign up for free newsletters with your entry. Other Tags bring scanners to mobile recipe pages and other promotional and subscription offers.


Family Circle also teamed up with Discover Card for a joint “Back-to-School” ad using Tag to direct readers to back-to-school shopping checklists for school supplies, clothing & accessories and groceries. Also on the mobile landing page is a link to Discover Card’s “Discover Everyday Giveaway” sweepstakes to win a monthly prize of $25,000 for you and $25,000 for the public school of your choice. A grand prize of $1 million and daily prizes are available too.
