How Idaho used Tag to connect magazine readers with a vacation contest.

Welcome to Idaho!

How would you feel if the Idaho Division of Tourism flew you to Idaho for a 10-day, 2,200-mile vacation to experience all that the Gem State has to offer? That’s exactly what happened to the Lumpkins, a busy family of four from Seattle. And, what’s more, the Idaho Division of Tourism is using Tag to promote its website.

If you’re an avid reader of magazines like Sunset, National Geographic, or Good Housekeeping (and other prominent periodicals), you may have already heard of the Lumpkins. In its print ads, the Idaho Division of Tourism has been using Tags to link to a video documenting the family’s trip. The video supplements the print ads by giving viewers a great interactive look at all the adventure a trip to Idaho has in store.

After being whisked away from the Emerald City, the family began their trip in Boise where they sampled the food, wine, and arts. From there, they traveled through Banks, Idaho, took quick stops at Yellowstone and Mesa Falls, and saw Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. They saw a lava flow at Craters of the Moon National Monument, rode horseback at Sun Valley, hiked the Sawtooth Mountains, bike riding on the Hiawatha Trail, and more. If you're feeling lucky, you can also enter to win your own prizes from the Idaho Division of Tourism.
