At the Atlantic City Brewfest last month, Erie Brewing Company launched their newest promotional tool: Microsoft Tag. Erie is now using Tag on all their new marketing material, from neck labels to promotional posters. The posters are even using a unique, custom Tag to help the poster and product really grab the viewer’s attention. Check it out:

So you may get to scope out Erie's Tags the next time you grab a bottle of Railbender Ale, Mad Anthony IPA, Presque Isle Pilsner, Misery Bay IPA, or Heritage Ale – neck labels with Tag are in production for each of the brews. The really smart thing about using these neck labels enhanced with interactive Tags is the amount of information that suddenly becomes available in such a tiny space. Tags can link to videos of popular commercials, customer reviews, coupons, or upcoming deals on the product, giveaways, and the list goes on.
Do you think beer drinkers would scan a Tag on a beer bottle...or be too busy enjoying the beer? If they do scan a Tag, are there other ideas that'd add a little something extra to the fun? Let us know in the comments below or on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
