Summit Entertainment and Tag have become “All for One, One for All” after Summit decided to use Microsoft Tags in the promotion of their film, “The Three Musketeers,” set to open October 2011. In a powerful partnership, this is the third film that Summit has used Tags to promote their upcoming blockbusters.
To achieve a swashbuckling success for “The Three Musketeers,” Summit first used Tags on promotional T-shirts then printed Tags onto in-theater “standees” (you know, the big, life-sized, cardboard promotional items with pictures of your favorite movie stars that make you want to go up and ask for their autograph).
By pulling out your smartphone and scanning the Tag with the same power and finesse as the one of the Musketeers, users are brought to a webpage where they can enter for a chance to win a trip to France, where the original novel by Alexandre Dumas is based and the movie is set.
How would you use Tags to promote an upcoming event or new release? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook and Twitter.
