You know the summer is winding down when the big action-packed blockbusters start to give way to heart-tugging chick flicks. “One Day,” starring everybody’s favorite girl-next-door Anne Hathaway and English cutie Jim Sturgess, opens on August 19th and Focus Features has been using Microsoft Tag to promote its release.

Tags were put on in-theater standees (those giant three-dimensional, cardboard displays that are in movie-theater lobbies) and on print ads including placement in Us Weekly. The Tag lets users view the “One Day” trailer and behind-the-scenes interviews with the actors and director Lone Scherfig, as well as links to ticket purchasing info and show times.


Adapted from the bestselling novel, “One Day” follows the relationship of Emma (Hathaway) and Dexter (Sturgess) over the span of two decades, but on the same day each year: July 15th. After watching the trailer, Tag recommends busting out the tissues for this one.
