With the recent release of NFC on the Tag platform I’ve received a variety of different people asking what NFC can be used for. They usually understand the connection for NFC and mobile payments but when it comes to NFC services, marketing, and gadgets it can get a little foggy. Here are some examples how NFC can be implemented beyond mobile payments
Social Networking and NFC are like peanut butter and jelly. FourSquare, Facebook, Twitter and LInkedin will more than likely embrace NFC to allow you to find friends in close proximity or even find new people who share your likes. With the massive growth of discounts and coupons you can probably expect businesses to push NFC coupons through your social networks based on your location as well.
NFC in the service industry can make a dramatic impact on wait times. Restaurant check-in, menus via table tents or tables themselves, customer service check-in, broken part orders, and payment can all be done through your mobile device. Being predicted that 1 in 5 smart phones will be NFC-enabled by 2014 it’s highly probably that the service industry will start investing in NFC technology.
NFC posters can be applied to posters and other physical items. NFC can be applied to posters, brochures, business cards or any other media that is NFC-enabled. It can speak and interact with your audience in different venues and environments.
