We all need to spruce up our appearance every now and then… and Microsoft Tag is no different. So if you haven’t done it yet, it’s time to download our new and improved Tag application, formally known as the Tag Reader!

Whether you have an iPhone or an Android, the Tag app will connect you to a world of information and entertainment. Plus, we’ve added some great new features:

  • The Tag app now gives you a very cool looking visual history of your last 15 Tags and lets you flag and organize your faves in a variety of ways.
  • View other Tag campaigns through our Featured Tags section.
  • You can view content from scans in our embedded browser.
  • Easily share your Tag experiences with friends on Facebook or Twitter as well as via email.
  • The Tag app update also allows you to save and edit contact information.

And don’t worry Windows Phone 7 users – your updated Tag app is right around the corner, integrating in with Mango. In addition to updating the Tag app, we’ve also improved the whole Tag experience. We’ve introduced our SDK, which integrates Tag scanning capabilities right into your mobile application.

We are not one to rest on our laurels and will continue to improve Tag in any way possible. We always welcome your input. What do you think about the new features in the Tag app update?

A huge -1 to removing Scan as the default on-open function. A big advantage to the app was its ability to open quickly and scan a Tag nearly instantly. Now I open the app and have to manually click Scan. It sounds like a tiny difference but it really isn't, especially for the functionality I want to use 99.9% of the time. I really don't want the QR proponents to use this against Tag in their FUD campaigns either. +1 to the in-app browser, history, and viewing other campaigns. @luckylou

Of course, it would be nice if the app also worked with Winphone 7 -- maybe Mango.
