As we’ve seen recently in EMarketer’s report on the growth of mobile tagging, one of the most popular uses for mobile tags such as Microsoft Tag is providing coupons to would-be customers. This popularity is clearly due to the overwhelming percentage of users redeeming the coupons they access via programs like Tag.
According to Mobile Marketer, the Atlanta-based Men’s Wearhouse chain K&G Fashion Superstore has seen a whopping 93% redemption rate for their mobile coupon campaign.
The program was developed with the goal of driving up store traffic and sales. Participants will continue to receive 4 messages every month on events, coupons, and other activities. In comparison, a similar marketing campaign that focused on print, radio, and local advertising was launched a few months before the mobile campaign. The non-mobile program had only a 49 percent redemption rate.
There’s no denying that a program that integrates a mobile tool like Tag has the edge. Will you be using mobile couponing – or are you already? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook or Twitter.
