Tagging Your Baggage

Losing your luggage while traveling can be a nightmare. It's stressful enough not having tomorrow’s business attire, but you may not know when or where your suitcase will show up.

Some airlines are now using 2D barcodes as digital boarding passes, but wouldn’t it be great if they also put a Microsoft Tag on your baggage claim check, in case your luggage gets lost? Much like UPS package tracking, the Tag’s data could be updated by airline personnel as the bags move through the system. If you’re in Philly and your bag is in Poughkeepsie, you’d know without having to wait in line – the airline could update its location using Microsoft Tag Manager, and you’d receive the current tracking info the next time you scanned the Tag on your claim check.

What do you think? Would you like to see 2D barcodes used to track your checked bags? Let us know in the Comments below, or on Tag's Facebook or Twitter pages.
