Rather than giving your customers yet another punch card to stuff in their wallets, consider taking your sandwich shop or café's loyalty program online. Scanning a Tag at the cash register could be an easy, paperless way for customers to track how many drinks they have left until that free one, with a mobile coupon for baristas to scan once they hit the milestone.


Or a Tag on tables can make it easy for customers to sign up for your e-newsletter, giving you a simple way to communicate drink specials, live musicians, or events – and keep track of your growing customer base. Tags could also link to your shop's mobile site, with a featured Customer of the Day, viral videos, "Vote for your favorite barista," and more. You could incorporate check-in services like Foursquare, too.
