Allowing customers to download your mobile application can
be a challenge. You either have to have explicit instructions for each mobile
platform and in most cases physically show customers where to download your
App. But now there’s another option the Tag App Download is a “smart” content
type – it can recognize the type of device scanning it and automatically
deliver a mobile experience optimized for that platform. If you’re publishing a
mobile app, you can use App Download with your recognition technologies to
automatically send customers to the right download for their phone, so they
don’t have to search for it in a mobile marketplace. App Download works equally
well with Tag barcodes, QR Codes, and NFC touchpoints. Instead of multiple
Tags, for example, pointing to different URLs, a single App Download Tag works
for all supported smartphones. Yep that’s right one Tag or QR code can be
scanned by any mobile platform and it will recognize the OS and deliver
optimize mobile web content or drive the customer to the appropriate App store
for their mobile device.
Personally, I think that this is one of our lesser known
features but it can have a large impact. Here’s some details on how to get
started.
