We’re excited to report that Microsoft Tag has experienced exponential growth over the past few months. Check out these results:

  • One billion Tags have been printed in the past four months, bringing the total to
2 billion Tags printed since its January 2009 debut.
  • The number of Tag users has increased threefold since emerging from beta in May (five months); the number of Tags scanned has increased fourfold.
  • To date, more than 100,000 Tag accounts have been created. In the past two months, Tags have been printed in more than 100 million magazines.
  • In the largest barcode campaign to date, Allure received nearly 450,000 scans when it used Tag in its annual Free Stuff Giveaway issue in August.

Tag momentum has been growing since it emerged from beta in May 2010, with brands and agencies leveraging Tag across online, print, outdoor, retail, and broadcast campaigns to engage consumers more deeply via rich digital content.
