PayPal Australia has created an extremely simple and easy to use scan to purchase backend experience for an Australian university-focused Co-op bookstore. The goal was to make the purchase of text books quicker and easier for students coming back to school this year. Rather than fighting the crowds in the bookstore, students could by textbooks from their smartphones by scanning QR codes in its store windows. Once the books were purchased through the student’s mobile phone they were shipped next day to the students address free of charge. I have to say this is a great example of scan to buy can actually improve the purchasing process. For more details on the execution of the project watch the video below.
