Rest Stop Tags Make Car Travel More Fun

Although we aren't recommending you scan Tags while driving, adding them to rest area signage can provide a welcome distraction and maybe even postpone cries of "Are we there yet?"

Here are a few ways Tags could make summer car travel a little less painful:

Make it into a game. Scanning Tags at rest stops along a particular highway could reward people with pieces to a puzzle. Getting a certain number could result in a mobile coupon to a nearby restaurant or attraction.

Tie in local history. Thanks to Tag's Real-Time Location feature, a single Tag could be used at various rest stops, each going to relevant local history based on where the person who scans it is. The Tags could go to mobile sites with local trivia and fun facts to keep kids interested.

Point to nearby places of interest. A Tag at a rest area could show nearby espresso stands (for late-night driving), restaurants, hotels, monuments, lookout points, and more. It could also offer limited-time discounts and promotions to boost local tourism.

How else could mobile tagging make rest stops and summer car travel better? Let us know in the comments below or on Tag’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
