From Happy Meals to Monopoly, McDonald's has once again shown us the importance on how to engage the customer with the brand. In a recent global campaign McDonald's used QR codes on food bags so customers buying meals can scan the QR code and receive nutritional information on their mobile phone. The tags are in 18 different languages and can be scanned with the Microsoft Tag app. Watch video for the Japanese McDonald's example.
This strategy is nothing new and has been used in the food industry many times over. Creating a tag is a great way to share more information about your product or company. If you never tagged before getting started is easy!
