Over the past couple of weeks there have been some great QR Code implementations. Today there’s another great QR Code implementation to add to the list. The new Dragon Ball Z for Kinect will be introducing QR Codes into the game. This isn’t 100% new since QR Codes have been used in the game Alan Wake game however, this time the game console scans the QR Code not the player’s phone.
With the new Dragon Ball Z video game powered by the Kinect, gamers can use Dragon Ball Z cards with QR Codes on them to unlock special features and content. All the gamer has to do is hold up the QR Code to the Kinect sensor and new features will be unlocked in the game. Personally, I think we’re going to see a lot more implementations like this where QR Code will be implemented into more gaming scenarios to unlock features, content, new levels and maybe even sync a user’s phone to a gaming console. What other ways do you see QR Code being used in video games? And if you’ve never created a QR Code before try it now with the Microsoft Tag QR Code Generator.
