Back in New York, I had a drawer in my kitchen quite literally jammed shut with restaurant delivery menus. While I ended up organizing this mess with a folder created specifically for takeout menus, Microsoft Tag could have made my life (as well as the restaurant owners’ lives) a lot easier.

Putting Tags on menus is a great way not only for customers to keep menus from their favorite eateries organized, but to also give them the ability to place their order (whether in the restaurant or at home) or share the day’s special items. A Tag on a menu could inform users about upcoming events and promotions, or even link to a video showing the chef in action.
Restaurant owners wouldn’t have to print up takeout menus, which saves money and is also environmentally friendly. Use a Tag and save a tree! A Tag on the menu they display in the window–or even just a yummy looking Tag on the window itself–would allow passersby to virtually collect menus that grabbed their attention. Users could peruse them when they had more time or when they were deciding on where to go that night for dinner. Now that’s whetting an appetite.
